Position: Employment Engagement Officer
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

A specialist education provider in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a proactive and motivated Employment Engagement Officer to join their dedicated team. This Employment Engagement Officer role will focus on supporting learners into employment, training, and further education by building strong partnerships with local employers.

The successful Employment Engagement Officer will play a key role in developing work placement opportunities, delivering high-quality careers information, advice and guidance (CIAG), and supporting learners to build essential employability skills. If you have experience in employer engagement, careers guidance, or post-16 provision, this Employment Engagement Officer opportunity could be the ideal next step.

Key Responsibilities of the Employment Engagement Officer:
  • Develop and maintain strong links with local employers to secure placement opportunities.
  • Act as the main point of contact for employers, offering ongoing support and guidance.
  • Match learners to appropriate placements based on skills and career goals.
  • Prepare learners for the workplace, including CV writing and interview preparation.
  • Conduct placement visits and monitor learner progress.
  • Deliver CIAG sessions to individuals and small groups.
  • Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with safeguarding and funding requirements.
The Ideal Employment Engagement Officer Will:
  • Have previous experience working as an Employment Engagement Officer or in employer engagement/careers guidance.
  • Be confident liaising with employers, learners, and external agencies.
  • Have strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Be proactive, solution-focused, and professional.
  • Hold an enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or be willing to apply).
  • Have a fully checkable work history.
  • This Employment Engagement Officer role requires a strong understanding of safeguarding and child protection. All successful applicants must satisfy safer recruitment checks, including an enhanced DBS registered on the Update Service.
