Salary: £107.71 minimum per day (dependent on experience and qualifications)
About the RoleWe are seeking an exceptional Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant and inclusive primary school in Newcastle (NE6). This is a fantastic opportunity for a passionate and dedicated individual who is committed to supporting children’s learning and development within a nurturing and engaging classroom environment.
Working closely with class teachers and senior staff, you will play a key role in helping pupils achieve their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally.
Key Responsibilities- Provide high-quality support to the class teacher in delivering engaging and effective lessons
- Work with small groups and on a 1:1 basis to support pupils’ learning
- Adapt resources and activities to meet the needs of all learners, including those with additional needs
- Promote positive behaviour and support the school’s behaviour policy
- Support pupils’ social, emotional, and mental wellbeing
- Assist with the preparation of classroom materials and learning environments
- Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teaching staff
- Previous experience working within a UK primary school setting
- Strong understanding of the UK primary curriculum
- Experience supporting children with a range of abilities and needs (including SEND is desirable)
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- A proactive, flexible, and positive approach to supporting learning
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed
- Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent)
- Additional training in areas such as phonics, behaviour management, or SEND support
