ECT Teacher – Flexible supply roles across primary and secondary settings starting September 2026
These flexible supply opportunities are ideal for Early Career Teachers who want to build confidence, gain broad classroom experience, and develop their teaching practice across a range of school settings. Working as an ECT Teacher on supply allows you to experience different year groups, subjects, and learning environments while maintaining flexibility and a healthy work-life balance. This Class Act role is well suited to ECTs who enjoy variety and want to make a positive impact from September 2026.
Duties- Deliver pre-planned lessons confidently across appropriate key stages and subjects
- Create a positive, inclusive, and well-managed classroom environment
- Follow school behaviour policies, routines, and safeguarding procedures
- Adapt teaching approaches to meet the needs of pupils with varying abilities
- Support pupils’ academic progress and engagement throughout the school day
- Manage classroom routines effectively to ensure continuity of learning
- Build positive relationships with pupils and school staff
- Provide clear feedback and handover notes for permanent staff
- Represent Class Act professionally while working as an ECT Teacher
- Qualified Teacher Status, suitable for Early Career Teachers
- Enthusiasm for teaching and developing classroom practice as an ECT Teacher
- Confidence working with pupils across relevant key stages
- Strong communication and behaviour management skills
- A flexible, reliable, and adaptable approach to supply teaching
- Willingness to gain experience across a variety of school settings
- A proactive attitude towards professional development
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people
- A positive and professional approach as an ECT Teacher

All candidates registering with Class Act are subject to safeguarding checks in line with the DfE’s statutory guidance Keeping Children Safe in Education, including reference checks and an Enhanced DBS check either registered on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
Salary and Additional InformationYour salary – dependent on experience – is paid weekly through PAYE, meaning no umbrella or self-employed arrangements.
