St John’s Primary School are looking to appoint an outstanding Specialist Resource Provision (SRP) Manager to lead our growing Communication and Interaction Provision. This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced practitioner who is committed to enabling pupils with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) to access a personalised, inclusive and ambitious curriculum.
About the RoleOur school-based specialist provision, ‘The Hub’, is expanding and in September will consist of two dedicated classes supporting children with Communication and Interaction needs. As the Lead Teacher, you will have responsibility for your own class of 8-10 pupils, while also providing strategic and operational oversight of the provision as a whole.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage the day‑to‑day operation of the specialist provision.
- Teach and support a class of pupils with EHCPs.
- Develop, implement and review a bespoke curriculum that meets the needs of pupils within the provision.
- Design and oversee blended learning programmes for pupils accessing both mainstream and specialist provision.
- Work collaboratively with mainstream staff to ensure successful inclusion opportunities.
- Monitor pupil progress and ensure provision meets the requirements of EHCPs.
- Lead and support support staff within the provision.
- Build positive relationships with families and external professionals.
- Plan and lead regular educational visits and community‑based learning opportunities to enhance pupils’ independence, communication and social development.
- Contribute to the strategic development and continued growth of the provision.
- Have substantial experience working within a specialist setting or specialist resource provision, particularly supporting pupils with Communication and Interaction needs.
- Have a strong understanding of autism, speech and language needs, sensory differences and inclusive practice.
- Be an excellent classroom practitioner with high expectations for all pupils.
- Have experience of planning and delivering personalised learning programmes for pupils with EHCPs.
- Can confidently lead curriculum development and ensure learning is ambitious, engaging and meaningful.
- Be highly organised and able to manage both teaching and leadership responsibilities effectively.
- Bring creativity, innovation and fresh ideas to further develop the provision.
- Have excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- Be committed to inclusion and believe every child can succeed.
