Position: Teaching Assistant - Permanent - Welbeck Academy
Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

About the role

We are seeking a highly motivated Teaching Assistant to support children’s learning in a stimulating and creative environment. You will work with targeted groups or classes and contribute to the overall development and well‑being of our students.

Responsibilities
  • Support daily routines and help provide rich learning experiences.
  • Confidently support colleagues during wrap‑around care sessions.
  • Use ICT to support learning activities.
  • Actively promote a high standard of physical and personal development and well‑being.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Hold a relevant Level 3 Childcare or Teaching Assistant qualification (or willingness to work towards it).
  • Minimum requirement of grade 4 (C) in Maths and English at GCSE.
  • Experience working with children.
  • Good numeracy, literacy and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of programmes or activities that can be used with a range of ages simultaneously.
  • Philosophy and ethos to build strong relationships with children and parents.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and the well‑being of children.
