Prospero Teaching is looking for a passionate, proactive and enthusiastic Class Teacher to promote the learning of pupils in inspirational Alternative Provision Settings in Newcastle on a full‑time and long‑term basis. This is a fantastic opportunity to build positive relationships with pupils and have a long‑term, positive impact on their lives, progress and development. All subject specialisms will be considered.

• The role will involve planning and teaching engaging and informative lessons that inspire pupils with SEMH and allows all pupils to make progress.
• Working with secondary aged pupils who have been excluded from mainstream school and have SEMH and SEND of varying levels as well as challenging behaviour.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and teaching assistants to create excellent learning environments.
• The role will involve managing challenging behaviour in a positive, proactive and consistent manner.
• Differentiating lessons appropriately to engage pupils and to suit the needs and learning styles of all pupils.
• Using varied methods of assessment to assess pupil progress.
• Working effectively with teaching assistants to ensure children receive the best possible educational experience.

• The role is based in Alternative Provision settings in Newcastle.
• The school supports pupils across the secondary school age range who have SEMH and have been temporarily excluded from mainstream school.

• Contract – full‑time until the end of the academic year in July 2026. For the right candidate, a permanent job offer may be made.
• Start date – ASAP.
• Location – Newcastle.

• Enhanced DBS (ideally on the Update Service but this is not essential as we can process a new one for you).
• QTS and teaching experience in either SEND, primary or secondary school settings within the UK.
• An interest in supporting and teaching pupils with SEMH.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with an ability to build rapport.
• A positive and resilient attitude towards teaching and work.
• Experience of teaching within the UK.
• A genuine passion for teaching and building relationships with pupils who face barriers to learning.
