Description

Unlocking the potential of every individual

At Bright Teach we believe that every individual is deserving of the best education possible, so we connect with our students, helping them to thrive in education and giving them the personalised learning and support they need to become confident, knowledgeable and fulfilled adults.

We care passionately about providing the best quality tutoring to students with additional needs, through matching the needs, interests and learning styles of the student with a complimentary tutor. If you find SEND tutoring rewarding and want to make a difference in a student's education, we'd love to hear from you!

Bright Teach SEND Tutors offer educational provision on an individual or small group basis to learners with a range of special educational needs. Tuition is offered across the ages from early years through to post 16.

Tutors will deliver bespoke and individualised lessons designed to support the child or young person’s presenting needs and deliver to their mutually agreed targets/outcomes, they will need to be skilled in building a rapport with complex children and young people to enable them to engage in the educational opportunities.

Tutors will need to ensure that lessons are engaging, personalised and in line with the requirements set out in the learners assessments and other educational information, i.e. their EHCP.

Tutors will commonly need to provide pastoral/mentoring support alongside their academic lessons, to ensure appropriate engagement from learners who will often be disengaged from conventional education opportunities.

Occasionally some of our more complex children/young people are supported by a multi-disciplinary team and tutors will need to work in collaboration with that team, spending time understanding the desired pathway for the child or young person.

Where a child or young person is approaching a key transition point, tutors will be involved in supporting the transition process, sharing relevant information and supporting the learner in being ready for the next step of their educational journey.

This role is subject to an enhanced DBS. Please review our safeguarding policy for further information:
Policies — Bright Teach.

All reporting/progress monitoring must meet the expected standards set out in the Bright Teach quality assurance process.
  • To contribute to other reviewing processes as appropriate; for example the Annual Review and PEP (personal education plan) for Looked After Children. This contribution may be in writing or by attendance at meetings by agreement of the SEND manager.
  • Implement other supportive strategies as appropriate to a learner’s needs for example pastoral support, specific literacy programmes, trauma informed approaches to supporting behaviour etc. Learners will be matched to a tutor’s existing skills, experiences and qualifications and, where required, additional training will be offered by Bright Teach.
  • To build and maintain successful relationships with learners, treat them consistently with respect and consideration and demonstrate concern for their development as learners.
  • To build good relationships with parents and report back the learners progress in an accessible and professionally…
