Roles include general teaching across a range of programmes and a specialised position as an Aircraft Maintenance Lecturer within the Aviation Academy.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver inclusive, high‑quality lessons and create engaging learning materials tailored to diverse learner needs.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress and maintain accurate records of learner progress and engagement.
- Guide academic and personal development through tutorials, pastoral care and tutorials.
- Enrich curriculum and maintain course content current and aligned with industry standards.
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to enrich the learner experience.
- Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.
- Deliver and assess high‑quality learning programmes in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering across a range of further education and higher courses.
- Support learners in developing theoretical knowledge and practical competencies required to progress within the aviation maintenance industry.
- Lead programmes, contribute to effective administration, planning, and continuous improvement of aviation programmes.
- Translate professional or vocational aviation maintenance experience into engaging teaching and learning.
- A relevant subject qualification (e.g., degree or equivalent).
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Level 2 English and Maths (e.g., GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
- Knowledge of subject‑specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
- Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
- Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development.
- Strong background in aircraft maintenance and professional or vocational experience within the aviation maintenance sector, ideally within a Part‑145 or Part‑147 training or maintenance environment.
- Demonstrable practical skills in diagnostics, fault finding, system testing and installation.
- Understanding of the CAA Part‑66 Aircraft Maintenance Licensing framework and associated knowledge requirements.
Applicants are encouraged to apply if they are experienced aviation maintenance professionals or lecturers with relevant industry experience. Full support will be provided to achieve an appropriate teaching qualification where not already held.
