We are seeking a motivated and learner-focused Work Experience Co‑ordinator to join our college team. You’ll play a key role in sourcing, coordinating and supporting high-quality industry placements and work experience opportunities, helping learners develop the skills, confidence and behaviours they need to succeed in their future careers. This is a meaningful opportunity to make a lasting impact on learners’ progression and employability.
Responsibilities- Develop employer partnerships – Build and maintain strong relationships with employers to secure high-quality work experience and industry placement opportunities.
- Identify new employer partnerships that enhance the learner experience across a range of curriculum areas.
- Act as the key point of contact for employers, learners and curriculum teams throughout the placement process.
- Support learner development – Prepare learners for work experience through guidance, employability coaching and placement preparation.
- Monitor learner progress during placements, providing support and intervention where required.
- Ensure learners gain meaningful experiences that develop their knowledge, skills and professional behaviours.
- Coordinate placements and ensure compliance – Match learners to suitable placement opportunities based on their programme and career aspirations.
- Complete all required administration, records and documentation accurately and efficiently.
- Ensure all placements meet safeguarding, health and safety, and compliance requirements.
- Collaborate and promote opportunities – Work closely with curriculum colleagues and external partners to maximise employer engagement and learner participation.
- Promote the value of work experience and industry placements to learners and employers.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying opportunities to enhance employer engagement and placement quality.
- A relevant qualification (or equivalent experience).
- Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE Grade 4/C or equivalent).
- Experience of working with employers, young people or within education, training or employability.
- Excellent communication, relationship‑building and organisational skills.
- The ability to manage a varied workload and coordinate multiple placements simultaneously.
- Confidence using digital systems to maintain accurate records and monitor learner progress.
- An understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, and equality within education and the workplace.
- A commitment to supporting learners and promoting positive progression outcomes.
