About this jobNewcastle College’s Aviation Academy is seeking a dedicated, enthusiastic and appropriately qualified individual to take on the role of Aircraft Maintenance Lecturer.
Responsibilities- Plan and deliver learning designs and inclusive lessons across a range of programmes.
- Create engaging learning materials tailored to diverse learner needs.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress.
- Guide academic and personal development through tutorials and pastoral care.
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress and engagement.
- Enhance curriculum and keep course content current and aligned with industry standards.
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to enrich the learner experience.
- Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.
- A relevant subject qualification (degree or equivalent).
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Level 2 English and Maths (e.g. GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
- Strong planning and delivery skills for diverse learners.
- Knowledge of subject‑specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
- Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
- Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
- A commitment to safeguarding, equality, and ongoing professional development.
- Strong background in aircraft maintenance with industrial or military experience, ideally in a Part‑145 or Part‑147 training/maintenance environment.
- Knowledge of the CAA Part‑66 Aircraft Maintenance Licensing framework is advantageous.
- Ability to translate industry experience into engaging teaching.
