About the role

As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with class teachers, SENCOs, and external specialists to implement support strategies tailored to individual learners. You will provide targeted academic, emotional, and behavioural support, helping to raise achievement and promote positive outcomes across all key stages. This is a rewarding and dynamic role for someone who is proactive, skilled in inclusive practice, and committed to improving life chances for young people.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide one-to-one and small group support for pupils with a range of SEND, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and learning difficulties.
  • Deliver targeted interventions in literacy, numeracy, communication, and social skills.
  • Assist in planning and adapting classroom activities to ensure accessibility and engagement for all learners.
  • Monitor, assess, and record pupil progress and behaviour, feeding back to staff and parents/carers as appropriate.
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff, therapists, and support services to implement EHCP targets and personalised learning plans.
  • Support transitions, both within school and between educational settings.
  • Contribute to the development of inclusive teaching resources and strategies.
Qualifications and Experience
  • Enhanced Child workforce DBS on the update service or be willing to apply for one.
  • Level 3 teaching/support qualification or higher.
  • Previous experience working with children and/or young people, preferably within an education setting.

All applicants will require the appropriate qualifications and training for this role. All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
