Job Summary
We are seeking an inspiring and dedicated HE Counselling Lecturer to join our vibrant teaching team. The successful candidate will deliver engaging and inclusive Higher Education lessons to degree level students, supporting their development through Higher Education to become a Counsellor. You will design high‑quality teaching, learning and assessment materials across a range of topics, fostering curiosity, critical thinking and academic confidence.
Responsibilities- Design and deliver inclusive, high‑quality lessons.
- Create engaging learning materials tailored to diverse learner needs.
- Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress.
- Guide academic and personal development through tutorials and pastoral care.
- Maintain accurate records of learner progress and engagement.
- Enhance curriculum and quality by keeping course content current and aligned with industry standards.
- Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to enrich the learner experience.
- Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.
- Support student pastoral needs while maintaining professional lecturer boundaries.
- A relevant subject qualification (e.g., degree or equivalent).
- A recognised teaching qualification.
- Level 2 English and Maths (e.g., GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of the sector with experience working with clients, developing therapeutic relationships, and ethical practice.
- Experience in curriculum development supporting students from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to plan and deliver effective, inclusive teaching for diverse learners.
- Knowledge of subject‑specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
- Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
- Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
