Responsibilities

  • Design and deliver inclusive, high-quality lessons for Art and Design students.
  • Create engaging learning materials tailored to diverse learner needs.
  • Provide clear, constructive feedback to support learner progress.
  • Guide academic and personal development through tutorials and pastoral care.
  • Maintain accurate records of learner progress and engagement.
  • Keep course content current and aligned with industry standards.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and quality assurance processes.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and external partners to enrich the learner experience.
  • Promote and uphold safeguarding, equality, and health and safety policies.
  • Monitor student retention and progress, implementing timely interventions to meet learning targets.
  • Communicate effectively with parents/guardians, external agencies, and support teams.
  • Drive high teaching and learning standards, fostering an environment conducive to success.
  • Demonstrate patience, empathy, a positive outlook and composure in challenging situations.
Qualifications
  • A relevant subject qualification (degree or equivalent).
  • A recognised teaching qualification.
  • Level 2 English and Maths (GCSE grade C/4 or equivalent).
  • Ability to plan and deliver effective, inclusive teaching for diverse learners.
  • Knowledge of subject-specific pedagogy and current teaching practices in further or higher education.
  • Clear communication and strong organisational skills.
  • Confidence using digital tools to support learning.
  • A commitment to safeguarding, equality and ongoing professional development.
