Your Role
This is a role dedicated to supporting one of our sixth form tutors who is registered blind. Responsibilities include, day-to-day administration and technology assistance, classroom management and building orientation support, ensuring all duties are carried out safely and efficiently.

We are looking for someone who is enthusiastic about education and committed to providing exceptional support to our post 16 Tutor.
The role will suit someone who is extremely well organized, who is a clear communicator and able to convey information in a way that is easy to understand and free from ambiguity, someone who is proactive and who is keen to improve ways of working, actively supporting an inclusive and productive working environment.
You will be an excellent administrator with exceptional attention to detail, love all things technology and are very proficient in the use of Microsoft 365.

- Ability to maintain paper and electronic records essential
- Ability to converse as easy with students and provide advice in fluent and accurate spoken English essential

- Ability to form effective professional relationships with a wide range of contacts essential

- Ability to plan own workload and meet deadlines essential
- Ability to motivate students essential
- Knowledge of the requirement of the National Curriculum
- Knowledge of the wide range of agencies working in the areas of learning support
- Experience of working with children and young people essential
- Experience of supporting children and young people with their intimate care needs essential
- Experience of working in a school environment
- Experience of providing learning support to students
- Ability to respond positively and effectively to unexpected problems and situations
- Empathy for children and young people facing barriers to their learning essential
- Ability to form and maintain appropriate relationships and personal boundaries with students essential
- An interest and commitment to the whole school community
- A commitment to child protection and safeguarding
- Good general education with English and maths Grade C or above (or equivalent) essential
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 for Teaching Assistants or equivalent qualification (or experience)
