Protocol Education is recruiting Psychology Graduates to support SEN schools across Gateshead and Newcastle from September 2026.
The OpportunityAs a Graduate SEN Teaching Assistant, you’ll support children with a range of additional needs, helping them manage the challenges of school and develop the skills they need to succeed.
Gateshead | Full-time | Monday-Friday | September 2026 | £92.63-£98 per day
You'll Support Pupils With- Autism
- ADHD
- SEMH needs
- Communication difficulties
- Learning difficulties
- Emotional regulation needs
Your role could include providing 1:1 support, helping pupils manage their emotions, delivering interventions or encouraging children to participate in lessons.
What Makes This Different?You won’t simply be observing from the sidelines.
You’ll be hands-on
, working directly with pupils and gaining a genuine understanding of how SEND can affect behaviour, learning and emotional wellbeing.
You’ll also work closely with teachers, SENCOs and other professionals, giving you a valuable insight into working within a multidisciplinary education environment.
We're Looking For- Psychology degree or related qualification

- Previous child-related experience is beneficial but not essential

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
