We are currently looking for a Lecturer in Digital Technology Management to join our new centre, The Bridge at Northumbria University.
The Bridge is a partnership between Cambridge Education Group (CEG) and Northumbria University that aims to transform access to higher education by supporting students from a wide range of backgrounds to realise their potential. Combining high-quality teaching, personalised support and a strong sense of community, The Bridge provides an alternative entry route into higher education and creates opportunities for learners who might otherwise be excluded from university study.
Through this approach, The Bridge seeks to improve educational attainment, support social mobility and enable more students to progress successfully to a Northumbria University degree.
The Lecturer in Digital Technology Management is required to:
- Contribute to the development and success of the centre, supporting the strategic aims and objectives of CEG, leading by example in accordance with centre, University partner and external sector standards.
- Plan, prepare and deliver high-quality teaching across designated modules and subject areas in accordance with University regulations.
- Deliver engaging, inclusive and academically rigorous learning experiences that support excellent student engagement, attainment and progression.
- Monitor progress and provide regular feedback, formative and summative, to help manage students’ performance.
- Create and maintain effective learning environments that encourage participation, critical thinking and independent learning.
- Use a range of teaching, learning and assessment approaches to meet the needs of students from diverse educational backgrounds.
- Participate in moderation, standardisation, marking and assessment board processes as required.
- Contribute to quality assurance and enhancement activities, including module evaluation and programme review.
- Report to relevant stakeholders on students as needed throughout the programme.
- Ensure accurate and timely completion of academic administrative and organisational tasks associated with delivery and actively participate in meetings related to the duties described above.
- Maintain subject expertise in Digital Technology Management and ensure learning materials remain current, relevant and aligned to programme requirements.
- Act as an ambassador for The Bridge, contributing to outreach, recruitment, marketing and stakeholder engagement activities (as appropriate) and inspiring prospective students to consider higher education as an achievable pathway.

- Educated to master's degree or equivalent qualification level, in relevant subject area (essential)
- Demonstrates a high level of fluency in written and spoken English (essential)
- Experience of teaching or training within UK further education, higher education or professional settings (essential).
- Experience of designing and delivering engaging, inclusive learning experiences that support student success (essential).
- Experience of motivating, coaching and supporting students to achieve their academic and personal goals (essential).
- Understanding of the barriers and challenges commonly faced by widening participation and underrepresented student groups (essential).
- Ability to deliver engaging and inclusive teaching to students from diverse educational, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds (essential).
- Ability to motivate, challenge and inspire learners to achieve their academic potential (essential).
- Demonstrable commitment to widening participation, social mobility and supporting access to higher education (essential).
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills (essential).
- Demonstrates cultural awareness and the ability to work effectively with students from diverse backgrounds (essential).
