Our client is growing, and is looking for an experienced Streetworks & Utilities Trainer to join their team to help deliver high-quality, practical training to people working in and entering the UK’s utilities and infrastructure sectors.

This is an opportunity for someone with genuine industry experience who wants to use their knowledge, skills and practical expertise to develop others.

Your background could be in NRSWA, street works, utilities, highways, gas, water, telecoms or related infrastructure. If you know your subject, understand the realities of working in the industry and enjoy helping people learn, we’d like to hear from you.

You’ll join a growing training organisation with a strong reputation for practical, industry-focused training across construction, utilities, safety and green skills.

The role

As a Streetworks & Utilities Trainer, you’ll deliver engaging, professional and compliant training across your areas of competence.

You’ll be responsible for:

* Delivering NRSWA, Streetworks and utilities training to new and experienced learners.

* Delivering accredited and non-accredited programmes within your approved qualifications, competencies and registrations.

* Combining classroom-based theory with practical, hands-on training and assessment.

* Creating a positive learning environment where learners feel supported, engaged and confident.

* Assessing learners fairly and consistently in line with awarding organisation and regulatory requirements.

* Bringing your real-world industry experience into the classroom and sharing practical knowledge and best practice.

* Promoting safe working practices and challenging unsafe or poor practice where appropriate.

* Ensuring training and assessment meet required quality, compliance, health and safety and safeguarding standards.

* Supporting the development of training materials, practical exercises and new training programmes.

* Maintaining accurate learner records, assessment documentation and training reports.

* Providing learners with appropriate information, advice and guidance throughout their learning journey.

* Maintaining your own CPD, qualifications, registrations and industry knowledge.

* Taking responsibility for training equipment, materials and practical training areas.

* Working collaboratively with the team to continually improve our programmes and learner experience.

What they are looking for

They are looking for someone who is knowledgeable, practical, approachable and passionate about helping people develop.

Ideally, you’ll have:

* Current or recent industry experience in street works, utilities, highways or a related discipline.

* Relevant vocational qualifications and demonstrable industry competence.

* Appropriate NRSWA/Streetworks qualifications and experience.

* Experience working within the utilities or wider infrastructure sector.

* A strong understanding of health and safety and safe working practices.

* A recognised teaching and/or assessing qualification, such as Level 3 Education & Training, AET, PTLLS, CAVA, TAQA or equivalent — or a willingness to work towards one.

* The ability to explain technical information clearly to people with different levels of knowledge and experience.
