Key ResponsibilitiesThe purpose of the Head of Civil/ Structural Engineering role is to be ultimately responsible for the delivery of Civil/ Structural engineering scope across projects, studies, and bids; this includes ensuring designs meet the highest standards with regards to safety, code compliance, scope alignment, quality, cost, and on-time delivery. In this role you will promote structural efficiency, cost optimisation, and quality of output, through resource management and acting as a business subject matter expert.
This is a functional role with management and occasional customer facing responsibilities.
- Wholly accountable for the quality of Civil/ Structural engineering output, and on-time delivery in accordance with project requirements.
- Ensure all Civil/ Structural designs are code compliant, meet specification, safe in design, and consider lifecycle requirements.
- Support Project Managers, Project Engineers, and Bids with information and guidance.
Minimum Requirements:
- BEng (Hons) in Engineering (preferably Civil or Structural)
- Chartered Engineer (CEng, preferably ICE or IStruct
E) - Strong experience in a Civil/ Structural engineering field.
- Knowledge of the construction & process industries and applicable standards.
- Ability to use structural analytical software unaided (STAAD Pro or TEKLA Structures preferred).
- Ability to interpret Site Investigation reports and identify civil implications.
