We’re looking for a motivated graduate to join our Newcastle team as a Graduate Sustainability Engineer

In this role, you’ll work alongside experienced engineers across a broad range of projects, gaining hands‑on experience at the intersection of sustainability, building physics and building services engineering
. From day one, you’ll contribute to the delivery of low‑energy design solutions, support work on leading sustainability standards such as BREEAM, WELL and LEED
, and use advanced thermal and environmental modelling tools to assess building performance and inform design decisions.
Your responsibilities will include preparing sustainability statements for planning submissions, supporting energy and carbon assessments, contributing to feasibility studies, and helping to evaluate the performance of mechanical and electrical systems within sustainable design strategies. This is a truly generalist engineering role, offering exposure to multiple aspects of MEP design, building performance modelling, environmental assessment and sustainable design consultancy – ideal for someone who wants to build a strong, well‑rounded engineering foundation.
QualificationsWe’re seeking someone with a relevant degree in engineering, building services, sustainability, environmental design or a related field
, who can combine analytical thinking with a collaborative mindset and a genuine passion for creating better, more sustainable buildings. You should be comfortable using AutoCAD and Microsoft Office and keen to develop your skills in modelling software and wider engineering tools.
