HV Engineer

Overview

Exciting opportunities available for Electrical Engineers with high voltage (HV) experience to work for the Distribution Network Operator (DNO) Northern Powergrid!

The role is to manage HV distribution projects at various voltage levels, including 11kV and 132kV, and could involve new connections, network extensions, reinforcements or major substation schemes. Responsible for projects from concept to completion, the HV Engineer will lead the design phase and on-site construction and installation works.

• Manage HV distribution projects from concept to completion across 11kV, 132kV and related infrastructure.
• Lead the design phase and on-site construction and installation works for HV projects.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver project milestones.
• Prepare technical documentation, designs, and specifications for HV schemes.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory and safety requirements throughout the project lifecycle.

• Qualifications in Electrical Engineering are required.
• A driving licence is essential.
• Previous experience in HV, T&D, power distribution or new connections sectors is preferred (e.g., Project Engineer, Project Manager, Field Engineer, or Design Engineer).
• Applications from those in related sectors with strong transferable project management skills will be considered.
