Are you a Protection & Control Design Engineer or similar looking for a specialist role offering full autonomy to oversee technical National Grid projects essential for the ongoing supply of energy across the UK within a company moving from strength‑to‑strength who offer a dynamic range of progression opportunities?

This growing firm is a provider of front‑end engineering services for a varied client base working on National Grid projects. They are moving from strength‑to‑strength, having undertaken major growth since their establishment in 2021, and are looking to grow their friendly design team.

In this specialist role you will be the go‑to person for heading up specialist P&C projects, working closely with clients to understand their requirements and providing technical support to them and junior team members. You will undertake end‑to‑end work including overseeing site teams, undertaking calculations and carrying out hands‑on design work primarily in office, with some client visitation and occasional WFH.

• Lead and carry out end‑to‑end project work on P&C projects
• Schematic, cable block and diagram design
• Prepare bill of materials and carry out cable sizing calculations
• Work within a tight‑knit team, mentor junior team members and liaise with other departments
• Primarily office based with occasional client visitation and WFH

• Design Engineer or similar
• Protection & Control / P&C experience
• Commutable to Newcastle
