Newcastle City Centre, Full-time Permanent

An established and rapidly growing transport planning and infrastructure consultancy is seeking an Assistant Transport Planner to join its expanding Newcastle office. This is an excellent opportunity for a graduate or early-career professional to work on a wide range of development projects, supporting planning applications across residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use schemes.

• Assist with Transport Assessments, Transport Statements and Travel Plans
• Support site appraisals, access strategies and feasibility studies
• Analyse traffic data, transport surveys and junction performance
• Prepare technical reports, drawings and supporting documentation
• Conduct site visits and data collection
• Support senior staff across the planning application lifecycle
• Liaise with clients, local authorities and project teams

• Degree in Transport Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography or similar
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Good written and verbal communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word)
• Interest in development planning, highways or infrastructure

• Consultancy experience (placement or 6-12 months+)
• Exposure to Transport Assessments / planning process
