Engineering Manager

A well established engineering business is looking to appoint an experienced Engineering Manager to lead engineering operations, oversee project delivery, and support the development of a growing engineering team.

This is a key leadership role combining technical oversight, project management, resource planning, stakeholder engagement, and people development.

The Role

The Engineering Manager will be responsible for managing engineering activities, ensuring the delivery of high quality engineering solutions, and driving continuous improvement across engineering processes.

The successful candidate will play a central role in shaping technical strategy, supporting project execution, and developing engineering capability within the team.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership

* Drive technical decision making and engineering best practice

* Manage technical queries and provide engineering guidance

* Prepare and review engineering documentation including Risk Assessments and FMECA documentation

Project Delivery

* Establish technical objectives and project milestones

* Manage engineering activities throughout project life cycles

Stakeholder Management

* Work closely with project managers, clients, and internal stakeholders

* Translate technical information for non technical audiences

* Build effective relationships across the organisation and with external parties

Resource & Team Management

* Manage engineering resource allocation and workload planning

* Ensure engineers have the tools and support required to succeed

* Recruit, develop, and manage engineering personnel

* Conduct performance reviews, regular one to one meetings, and development planning

Ideal Candidate

* Degree qualified in an Engineering discipline or equivalent - Mechanical bias

* Proven engineering leadership or management experience

* Strong understanding of engineering control procedures

* Experience supporting or participating in ISO 9001 audits

* Knowledge of Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD is preferred

* Strong communication and relationship building, with experience and confidence in a client facing Engineering Manager position

* Experience with in the offshore sector would be advantageous

* Passion for developing people and building high performing teams
