We are looking for an experienced and hands-on Engineering Lead to join our team and play a key role in ensuring the reliability, efficiency, and continuous improvement of our operations.
This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated engineering professional who enjoys leading teams, solving technical challenges, and driving operational excellence in a fast-paced production environment. You will be responsible for leading a team of engineers, maximising equipment availability, reducing downtime, and delivering safe, cost-effective engineering solutions.
About the RoleAs Engineering Lead, you will provide day-to-day leadership to the engineering team, ensuring planned and reactive maintenance activities are delivered safely and effectively. Working closely with production and operational teams, you will help improve plant performance, lead engineering projects, and foster a proactive maintenance culture.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and support a team of engineers, promoting high performance and continuous development.
- Ensure preventative maintenance schedules are completed to maximise equipment reliability and availability.
- Provide electrical and/or mechanical fault-finding support during equipment breakdowns.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance safety, efficiency, and operational performance.
- Be involved with engineering projects, collaborating with suppliers and internal stakeholders from concept through to implementation.
- Develop and maintain safe systems of work and engineering best practices.
- Coordinate engineering priorities with production teams to minimise disruption and maximise productivity.
- Support the development of engineering team capability through coaching, mentoring, and training.
- Build effective relationships with contractors and ensure all required procedures and documentation are in place.
- Support compliance with health, safety, and statutory requirements at all times.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Previous experience leading, developing, or mentoring engineering teams.
- Strong electrical and/or mechanical engineering knowledge.
- A hands-on approach with excellent problem-solving skills.
- The ability to prioritise workload and perform effectively in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A collaborative team-focused attitude.
- A Level 3 Engineering qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.

We offer a structured 3-week rotating shift pattern
, working 4 days per week with a rotating rest day (Monday, Wednesday or Friday). Core hours are 6:30am to 5:30pm. As part of the role, you'll also participate in a 1-in-4 weekend rota
, working 7:00am to 3:30pm on Saturday and Sunday. This pattern provides regular days off throughout the week while supporting our operational requirements.
