Manufacturing Project Engineer – Newcastle
CDM Recruitment are working with a leading global engineering organisation to recruit a Manufacturing Project Engineer for their Newcastle facility.
This is a varied role focused on engineering improvement projects across manufacturing operations
, particularly around the final preparation and packing of large engineered products.
- Lead and support manufacturing improvement projects.
- Map processes and identify opportunities for standardisation, simplification and efficiency improvements
. - Apply Lean / Continuous Improvement methodologies.
- Produce and update AutoCAD layouts and technical documentation.
- Develop SOPs, work standards, design rules and process documentation.
- Coordinate internal stakeholders and external contractors.
- Support manufacturing readiness, risk reviews and engineering change.
- Use structured problem solving to resolve manufacturing issues.
- Support improvements to how large products and materials move through the facility.
We're interested in engineers with:
- Experience with in manufacturing or engineering
. - Project engineering and/or continuous improvement experience.
- Process mapping and Lean/CI knowledge.
- AutoCAD experience.
- Strong stakeholder and project coordination skills.
- Experience delivering against challenging project schedules.
Experience with in heavy engineering, offshore, subsea, marine or large-scale manufacturing would be beneficial, as would an awareness of heavy lifting/material handling, but direct logistics or subsea experience is not essential
