We offer purpose-driven and challenging work in diverse international projects, leveraging our 140+ years of expertise. With over 6,800 employees in more than 25 countries, we work together to turn challenges into opportunities and make a real impact on society.

About our Environmental Team

Haskoning is a UK leading marine environmental consultancy, with over 30 years’ experience of supporting our coastal and marine clients. Throughout this period, we have developed a uniquely experienced team of experts, who specialise in the consenting, permitting and licencing for complex coastal and marine infrastructure developments and operations, both within the UK and internationally.

We carried out the first Habitats Regulations Assessment on a major port project in 1994, when the Habitats Regulations were first introduced, and continue to be at the cutting edge of marine consenting including working with Natural England to develop and implement marine Biodiversity Net Gain.

Above all, with a UK Environment team of over 150 staff (amongst a much larger company resource), we are known for adding value and making a positive difference for our clients through a proactive, solution orientated approach, the respect of the regulators, and achieving consent for proposals in and around protected environments.

We have an extensive portfolio of clients across a wide range of sectors and geographical area. Examples of recent projects that we have been involved with include:
Holyhead Port Expansion for Stena Line Ports, Portsmouth Harbour Aircraft Carrier Berth and Approach Channel for the Defence Infrastructure Organisation, Bacton Sandscaping Scheme for North Norfolk Council and Leith Outer Berth development for Forth Ports Limited.

We are seeking an enthusiastic, conscientious, and talented Environmental Consultant with excellent communication skills and technical expertise in the consenting of marine and coastal infrastructure projects. This includes the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments (EIAs) and Habitats Regulations Assessments (HRAs) for developments that shape the future of our marine environment.

  • Engage with regulators, stakeholders, and clients, providing clear advice on marine consenting processes and environmental compliance.
  • Problem-solve complex marine environmental challenges, applying innovative and sustainable solutions to meet project objectives.
  • Represent Haskoning at client offices, regulator meetings, and stakeholder consultations, acting as a trusted advisor in marine development.
  • Support project management activities, including scheduling, budgeting, and reporting, ensuring projects are delivered on time and to the highest standards.
This role might be right for you if you have:
  • Demonstrable experience in the delivery of EIAs and the marine consenting process, ideally for ports and harbours related projects and/or coastal management
