Electrical Commissioning Engineer – Data Centres

About the Role:

Clear are seeking an experienced Electrical Commissioning Engineer to join our team, focusing on data centre projects in Europe. You will lead the commissioning, testing, and start-up of electrical systems, including busbars, UPS systems, generators, and switch gear, ensuring maximum reliability, safety, and performance in mission‑critical environments.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the commissioning and start‑up of data centre electrical systems, including busbar installations, power distribution, UPS systems, generators, and switch gear.
  • Perform testing, troubleshooting, and validation of electrical installations to ensure compliance with design specifications and industry standards.
  • Develop and execute commissioning plans, checklists, and reports specific to high‑availability facilities.
  • Provide technical support during installation and handover, addressing issues promptly to minimize downtime.
  • Ensure all work complies with safety regulations and best practices for critical infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with clients, contractors, and project teams, providing technical guidance and progress updates.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Proven experience in electrical commissioning, preferably in data centres or mission‑critical facilities.
  • Strong knowledge of busbar systems, low and medium voltage distribution, UPS, generators, and switch gear.
  • Hands‑on experience with testing, troubleshooting, and start‑up of complex electrical systems.
  • Excellent problem‑solving, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently on‑site and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
