**** Your new role
** We’re looking for a skilled and motivated
** Electrical Engineer
** to join our Engineering team in Newton Aycliffe. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with a strong electrical engineering background, who also has an appreciation or understanding of mechanical systems, to contribute to high-impact, technically complex projects.

Working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment, you’ll play a key role in the design, development, and integration of electrical systems across a range of applications.
** Some key responsibilities
*** Develop functional electrical schemes for systems and subassemblies
* Produce detailed wiring diagrams, harness layouts and electrical documentation for production
* Design electrical subassemblies, including cubicles, enclosures and external equipment
* Define and specify electrical and electro-mechanical components
* Prepare system and component technical specifications
* Support integration and testing of electrical systems, including on-system validation
* Conduct design reviews with internal stakeholders, suppliers, and customers
* Collaborate across engineering disciplines, particularly where electrical and mechanical interfaces intersect
** About you
** You’ll be an Electrical Engineer with strong technical capability and a proactive mindset, comfortable working both independently and within cross-functional teams.

We’re particularly interested in candidates who bring:
* A solid foundation in electrical engineering principles and design
* Experience producing schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical documentation
* An understanding or exposure to mechanical systems or electro-mechanical integration
* Familiarity with engineering tools such as AutoCAD, Creo, Catia or electrical design software (e.g. E3 Zuken)
* Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to analyse technical requirements
* Effective communication skills and the confidence to engage with a wide range of stakeholders

* Qualifications:

*** Degree in Electrical Engineering (or a related discipline, with relevant experience)
** Desirable (but not essential):
*** Experience with in the rail industry or other highly regulated engineering environments
* Knowledge of electrical system standards and testing approaches within rail or similar sectors
