Head of Finance

Location: Newcastle Upon Tyne

The Role We are seeking a highly experienced Head of Finance to lead and develop the finance function, providing strategic financial leadership to the business. Reporting to the CFO, you will oversee all aspects of finance, ensuring robust financial management, governance, and insight to support business growth. This is a senior, visible role offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy and influence key business decisions.

Key Responsibilities Lead the finance function, including management accounting, statutory reporting, treasury, and commercial finance Prepare and present monthly management accounts, forecasts, and board packs, providing actionable insight to senior leadership Drive budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning processes Oversee cash flow, working capital management, and capital allocation decisions Ensure compliance with statutory requirements, financial policies, and internal controls Partner with business leaders to provide financial analysis and commercial insight to support decision-making Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing finance team Support strategic initiatives including M&A, fundraising, and system implementation projects Continuously improve finance processes, reporting, and systems to enhance efficiency and accuracy Key Skills & Experience Fully qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with substantial post-qualification experience Significant experience in a senior finance role, ideally as Head of Finance or Finance Director Strong technical accounting knowledge and commercial acumen Experience in strategic planning, forecasting, and financial modelling Excellent stakeholder management and leadership skills Confident communicator with the ability to influence at board level Experience in PE-backed, high-growth, or multi-entity organisations is advantageous Proven ability to drive process improvements and implement finance systems

Desirable Experience leading finance in a high-growth or international business Exposure to M&A, fundraising, or strategic transformation initiatives Prior line management experience with a track record of developing finance teams
