Senior Consultant, Regulatory Compliance (Conduct Risk) – UKFS Consulting Service Delivery

In this role, you will apply your experience and specialist knowledge to help clients meet their regulatory obligations around a variety of Conduct matters, such as suitability reviews, outcome testing, complaint handling, and regulatory mapping.

You'll be part of a dynamic environment working alongside diverse teams to help EY drive positive change. You’ll be part of our Consulting Service Delivery (CSD) team in Newcastle, which specialises in the operational delivery of engagements which help our clients with their business challenges.

Your Key Responsibilities

This is an exciting opportunity to work in a collaborative Conduct Risk compliance culture to deliver high-quality solutions for clients, who will primarily be from the financial services sector. You’ll use your technical expertise to help clients meet regulatory obligations and build trust in their organisations, as well as supporting management in leading teams working on Conduct Risk engagements. You’ll uphold EY’s quality standards, follow workplace policies, and support the growth of our Newcastle-based team.

Client

Responsibilities:
  • Work as part of operational delivery teams to support clients with Conduct Risk or broader Consulting engagements, in areas such as suitability reviews, outcome testing, complaint handling and regulatory mapping
  • Adhering to, and managing, productivity and quality expectations
  • Supporting the mobilisation and management of project teams, ensuring processes run smoothly and in line with EY project management standards
  • Designing robust technical delivery and control processes
  • Building strong relationships with clients and colleagues across EY, contributing to a collaborative culture
  • Preparing clear, insightful reports and presentations for clients and stakeholders.
  • Assisting with bids, proposals, and engagement management activities, including finance tracking and resource planning

People Responsibilities:

  • Supervising and providing ongoing professional developmental support, and acting as a workplace coach for junior team members.
  • Contributing to training initiatives and fostering an inclusive, high-performing team environment.

Skills and Attributes for Success

We’re looking for people who combine technical knowledge with a collaborative growth mindset. To thrive in this role, you’ll bring:

  • Strong attention to detail, with excellent analytical, communication and writing abilities
  • Confidence in conducting quality assurance and reviewing deliverables for accuracy
  • Adaptability and resilience when priorities shift or challenges arise
  • Teamwork skills, with the ability to work both independently and as part of a diverse group
  • Creative problem-solving skills and the ability to think independently

To qualify for the role, you must:

  • Have relevant regulatory experience relating to financial services regulation compliance and/or enforcement. This may be from working with a regulator, a financial services organisation, or a dynamic new market entrant
  • Support EY’s connected working approach, with presence in the Newcastle office dictated by Business or Client demands
  • Be eligible to work in the UK

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Familiarity with project management or supporting team initiatives
  • Experience of coaching or mentoring junior team members
