Senior Accountant

North East | Agile Working | 12 Month Fixed Term

An excellent opportunity has arisen for a fully qualified accountant to join a well established public sector finance team in the North East on a 12 month fixed term basis.

This is a broad and technically engaging Senior Accountant role offering exposure across statutory reporting, treasury management, budgeting and audit within a large and complex organisation.

• Supporting the preparation of statutory accounts in line with IFRS and relevant codes of practice
• Balance sheet ownership and reconciliation oversight
• Supporting annual budget setting and medium term financial planning
• Treasury management activities including cashflow forecasting and reporting
• Liaison with internal and external auditors
• Providing financial advice and insight to senior stakeholders
• Managing and developing finance team members

• Hold a full CCAB or CIMA qualification
• Have significant post qualification experience within a large, complex organisation
• Demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge
• Have experience supporting or leading audit processes
• Be confident communicating with senior stakeholders
• Ideally have team management experience
