, AMS are seeking a Banking Associate for a 6‑month contract,
working full‑time in the office within the Mortgage Operations team at Jubilee House, Gosforth, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE3 4PL
.
Our Banking Associates represent our brand, providing excellent experiences and helping people feel more confident about their finances. We are seeking someone with strong attention to detail, a positive attitude, and a commitment to delivering excellent customer service to support important operational tasks within our Mortgage team. This position suits those who appreciate structured administrative work, can maintain focus during repetitive tasks, and want to make a meaningful contribution behind the scenes.
Although the work is hands‑on and methodical, you will be part of a supportive and close‑knit team that values collaboration and takes pride in their work.
What you’ll be doing
- Starting with the initial phase of work focused on reviewing and processing physical mortgage documentation, following strict guidelines to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Over time you will learn how to identify items that require decision‑based review, and you’ll be gradually trained to handle more complex decision‑making tasks as your confidence and knowledge grow.
- Carrying out detailed checks to determine the appropriate next steps for documentation, ensuring consistency, accuracy and attention to detail throughout.
- Using Virgin Money internal systems to log actions, update records and maintain a clear and accurate audit trail of all activity.
- Preparing items for onward processing or customer correspondence, ensuring everything is completed, packaged and issued correctly.
- Supporting a wide range of administrative tasks to help the team deliver a smooth and first‑class experience for our customers and internal stakeholders.
- Bringing the Virgin Magic! You’ll be a champion for great service, supporting colleagues and contributing to a positive, supportive team environment every day.
Key accountabilities, skills & experience
We need you to have
- Attention to detail – Accuracy is essential, so you’ll need to be thorough in your work.
- Strong organisational skills to efficiently manage tasks, documentation and workload.
- Adaptability and flexibility to handle changing priorities and responsibilities.
- Curiosity, with the confidence to spot opportunities to improve how we work.
- Experience with in an admin, customer support or service environment; banking or regulated industries are a bonus but not essential.
- Great communication skills and the natural ability to build rapport with different personalities.
- Excellent listening skills; able to understand, process and respond professionally.
- The ability to learn and adapt quickly as processes and needs evolve.

- Experience working in a mortgage‑related team.
- Familiarity with banking operations or financial services culture.
