Job Description
Reporting into the Finance Manager, this role is responsible for the month‑end close process and the fulfilment of other obligations such as tax and statutory reporting.
We are looking for someone who is genuinely interested in the Fin Tech landscape, has solid financial accounting and reporting experience, and wants to support automation and streamlining of processes.
Responsibilities- General ledger management, including oversight of monthly balance sheet, banking and inter‑company reconciliations.
- Production of IFRS consolidated results and standalone financial statements.
- Ensure the Group’s financial accounting and reporting remains compliant with relevant accounting standards.
- Preparation of monthly financial reports covering balance sheet, profit and loss, internal management reports and cash‑flow statements; complete monthly prepayments, accruals, journals, fixed assets and depreciation schedules.
- Act as liaison with external auditors, bank managers, ONS and tax specialists.
- Assist in process improvement and systems enhancement initiatives.
- Proactively identify initiatives that could benefit the organisation.
- Minimum of 3 to 5 years of work experience in accounting.
- Experience in a chartered accounting firm is advantageous.
- Strong commercial and business acumen.
- Process and deadline‑driven mindset with a keen eye for detail.
- Critical thinking and problem‑solving skills.
- Strong negotiation skills and ability to develop ongoing working relationships.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to perform data and statistical analysis to spot trends and anomalies.
- Advanced computer software skills, including Excel and other financial software and tools for reporting and analysis purposes.
- Professional accounting qualification, or working towards a qualification such as AAT or ACCA.
