You will actively oversee their investment approach, provide thoughtful and ongoing financial advice, make necessary portfolio adjustments, and coordinate with specialists to ensure every aspect of their financial life is aligned and well‑managed.
This role is part of our Wealth Management Business, a growing area for the bank. We’re expanding our ability to support clients with investable assets up to £3 million and help close the Advice Gap in the UK. As part of our broader Affluent segment, this planning‑led proposition offers clear and accessible investment options shaped around each client’s needs. Clients benefit from a seamless experience that blends digital channels with adviser support, creating a connected and supportive journey.
In this role, you will build deep, meaningful relationships with clients—listening carefully, understanding what matters most to them, and offering bespoke solutions that support their financial and lifestyle goals. Whether they are preparing for retirement, investing for the future, or navigating day‑to‑day banking needs, you will be the steady, knowledgeable partner they rely on for clarity and confidence. - Manage and grow client relationships and acquire new clients—identifying and managing solutions to meet a wide range of client needs.
- Establish a sound understanding of the strategy of the clients in their portfolio through regular proactive contact, responding to client / prospect queries and requests and identifying opportunities that will deliver long‑term commercial reward.
- Manage operational, reputational, financial crime and credit risk for the portfolio to avoid exposing Barclays to undue risk.
- Ensure all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards Service/group relationships—referrals to group colleagues.
- Deliver exceptional sales and business performance by acquiring, developing and maintaining highly proactive, long‑term client relationships.
- Protect Barclays reputation through sound risk decisions by managing client group within their risk profile and appropriate regulatory framework.
- To advise and influence decision making, contribute to policy development and take responsibility for operational effectiveness. Collaborate closely with other functions/ business divisions.
- Lead a team performing complex tasks, using well‑developed professional knowledge and skills to deliver on work that impacts the whole business function. Set objectives and coach employees in pursuit of those objectives, appraisal of performance relative to objectives and determination of reward outcomes.
