Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

We are looking to recruit a Financial Control Assistant in our Newcastle office.

This is a temporary role (18 months) working in the Financial Accounting and Control Team of the Finance Department. We are looking for a driven individual with excellent attention to detail.

The successful candidate will be responsible for performing reconciliations of source systems to accounting systems (SUN & SAGE), bank and expense reconciliations, and clearing control accounts as well as other ad hoc duties.

This would be a good first step into gaining experience of the work of financial accountants.

What will you be doing?

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Reconciliation of source systems to accounting systems
  • Certify expenses reconciliations
  • Bank reconciliations
  • Agreeing cashbook balances to bank statements
  • Clearing the suspense banking ledgers
  • Updating cash records
  • Agreeing quarterly reports to ledgers
  • Reviewing ledger for all required analysis

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Good knowledge of Excel
  • IT literate with ability to adapt to new systems

Salary from £27,000, depending on experience
