Job SummaryProvide specialist dietetic care within oncology and haematology at the Freeman Hospital. Work with an established 6‑member oncology dietetic team, covering oncology wards, haematology, ENT surgery and other units, including a teenager/young person’s unit and radiotherapy outpatients. The role involves patient assessment, treatment planning, monitoring, nutrition support and participation in research, audit and education.
Responsibilities- Deliver clinical nutrition and dietetic service for acute and community settings in specialist areas.
- Provide dietetic assessment, diagnosis, treatment, monitoring and management for oncology and haematology patients.
- Act as a nutrition support expert, advising patients, consultants and other health professionals.
- Co‑design, plan and implement research and audit projects, publish results.
- Supervise and train dietetic students and junior staff.
- Contribute to multidisciplinary team meetings and promote education at all levels.
- Health and Care Professions Council registered dietitian.
- Degree in Dietetics or Science/Nutrition plus a post‑graduate Diploma in Dietetics.
- UK driving licence.
- Post‑registration experience in general clinical dietetics.
- Evidence of audit participation and CPD activity.
- Clinical supervisory skills course and/or teaching certificate.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office.
- Specialist training/qualifications in nutrition support, paediatrics, enteral feeding, supplementary prescribing.
- Basic training in counselling, motivational interviewing, or cognitive behavioural therapy.
- Experience in student training and working with multidisciplinary teams.
- Proficient use of Electronic Patient Records.
