Our Support Worker roles are immensely rewarding and enjoyable and we are looking for inspirational, enthusiastic Support Workers to join our staff family.

Each client has tailored care plans, and the main responsibilities of a Support Worker are:

  • Personal care (depending on the service)
  • Light housework
  • Meal preparation
  • Companionship
  • Supporting with or administering medication
  • Supporting clients to be independent and to achieve their personal goals
  • We’re looking for kind and compassionate people to join our team of Learning Disabilities Support Workers at our Newcastle services. Due to the clients having their own cars, a full UK driving licence is preferred.

    Azure’s aim is to support our clients to achieve independence, exercise their personal freedoms and make choices about the lives they lead.

    We are looking for staff who enjoy working together to support our clients to have the same life chances and choices as you and I in this world; learning or physical disabilities, and mental health problems, are not limitations.

    Pay:

    • £12.00 /hr – full and part-time hours available!
    • Generous sleep in payment
    • Up to £500 – New starter bonus

    Role:

    As a Learning Disabilities Support Worker, you will help clients with everyday tasks like:

  • Supporting people with their social and physical activities, helping to keep in touch with family and friends, maintaining and developing hobbies and interests.
  • Helping with meal planning and preparation whilst providing healthy advice and guidance.
  • Encouraging a person’s independence.
  • Providing support in a person-centred way, following support and care plans.
  • Communicating on all levels, advocating for those who are not able to speak out.
  • Helping with personalised care through individual choice and control whilst protecting people’s dignity.
  • This position is an opportunity to work creatively with people with learning disabilities.

    Training:

    No experience is needed as all your training is fully funded by the charity and you will be paid for your time to complete your training.

    As a Learning Disabilities Support Worker, you will be provided with:

    • 28 days’ annual leave rising to 33 days including bank holidays (pro-rata for part-time)
