Clinical Lead - Adult Audiology

The closing date is 17 March 2026

Join us in Transforming Audiology services in Newcastle Upon Tyne Hospital Trust.

Having undertaken a comprehensive service review, we are driving forward an exciting transformation in audiology services. With a focus on delivering safe, high‑quality care through strong governance, clear performance standards and innovative ways of working, the service is committed to providing the highest quality of patient care. Working with the clinical team a new structure has been developed which encompasses all aspects of Audiology with an aim to future‑prove the service both for patients and staff.

As part of our team, you will play a key role in shaping services that improve patient access and outcomes, supported by robust systems that ensure accountability and excellence. Within the structure, research and education have been prioritised along with continued service and staff development.

We are equally committed to staff wellbeing - creating a supportive, inclusive environment where professional development is encouraged and work‑life balance is valued. This is an opportunity to be a part of a forward‑thinking service that invests in its people as much as its patients.

Main duties of the job

Our Audiology department has recently launched a new clinical structure and has undergone an exciting service transformation. With a focus on establishing robust governance processes alongside modernising patient pathways and introducing innovative approaches to improve patient care, the service is committed to providing the highest quality audiology service. We are now seeking a motivated and forward‑thinking senior clinician to join our dynamic team and contribute to delivering high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

We are seeking two motivated and forward‑thinking Service leads to be part of the Audiology senior clinical team. Following a recent service review and the development of a new clinical structure, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to the future of audiological care across Newcastle, North Tyneside and Northumbria. Embedded in solid governance, the service aims to ensure that patients receive the highest quality, evidence‑based hearing and balance services.

These two posts will provide senior leadership to the adult and paediatric services and will play a key role in supporting the Head of service in the delivery of our adult and paediatric services.

This is an exciting time to join our service as we continue to embed changes that improve outcomes and experiences for our patients.

About us

As a flexible working friendly organisation, we want to be sure that you can work in a way that is best for us and for our patients, and for you. Speak to us about how we might be able to accommodate a flexible working arrangement. If it works for the service, we will do our best to make it work for you.

These include a range of flagship services which deliver cutting‑edge care (supported by state‑of‑the‑art diagnostic services in both radiology and pathology) and are a catalyst for innovation to support pioneering clinical practice in the NHS.

We also have offices at Regent Point in Gosforth and community sites.
