Speech & Language Therapist (Band 5/6 Equivalent) – Maternity CoverNewcastle upon Tyne | Term Time Only | Fixed Term Contract

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Speech & Language Therapist to join a specialist education setting supporting young people aged 16–25 with learning disabilities, autism, communication difficulties and complex needs.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary therapy team, you will manage a caseload of students with complex speech, language and communication needs, including the use of AAC systems, signing systems and other communication approaches. Experience of supporting dysphagia is desirable.

Requirements:

• HCPC Registered Speech & Language Therapist
• Band 5 (NQP competencies completed) or Band 6 level
• Experience supporting individuals with complex communication needs
• Knowledge of AAC and alternative communication methods

• Phase 1 = Band 5 equivalent SLT who has completed NQP competencies.
• Phase 2 = Band 6 equivalent SLT with more experience and autonomy.
