Support Workers​/Personal Assistants – Chesters (Jedburgh area) – 3172

An elderly lady with a learning disability, living at home in Chesters, is looking for a couple of Personal Assistants to establish a small team that can offer her support 4 times during the day. This support plan has been arranged to enable her to live as independently as possible in her own home.

• Total of 15.25 hours available. List of hours below, any availability will be considered:
• Morning visit – 45 minutes Monday to Sunday
• Lunch visit – 30 minutes Monday to Sunday
• Tea visit – 30 minutes Monday to Sunday
• Evening visit – 30 minutes Monday to Sunday
• £14.50 per hour.
• Paid annual leave entitlement of 5.6 weeks pro rata
• Probationary period of 6 months
• Post subject to references and PVG scheme membership

• To support a client to ensure their safety and well-being.
• To support with administering medication and recording this efficiently
• To support with personal care needs including:
  • Washing and dressing.
  • Continence care and management.
  • Hair washing/showering.
  • Monitoring of skin integrity and maintaining this.
• To support with general care needs such as:
  • Meal preparation.
  • Support with eating and drinking, ensuring safe practices followed when eating/drinking.
• Assistance with equipment to mobilise and transfer using equipment in place
• To develop a positive relationship and communication with the client and her family.
• To support to live as independent a life as possible
• Report any concerns back to family.
