Permanent Salary: £30,179 per annum (£15.69 per hour)

Full-time or Part-time | 24/7 service including days and waking nights
The Role We are looking for a BSL-qualified Independent Living Support Worker to support two young men in their first home following college. You will provide person-centred support to help them develop their independence, build relationships, access their local community and achieve their individual goals. The role includes supporting with daily living, activities, community access and personal care where required. The individuals have complex support needs.
One experiences generally nocturnal seizures and may display behaviours that challenge, including self-injurious behaviour. The other has dysphagia and requires an IDDSI Level 6 soft and bite-sized diet. Full person-specific training will be provided.
Key Responsibilities Provide person-centred support within the home and community. Promote independence, choice, dignity and wellbeing. Support daily living skills, routines and household tasks. Support community activities, relationships and social opportunities. Provide personal care where required. Follow health, medication, safeguarding and risk management procedures. Support individuals with behaviours of concern using agreed Positive Behaviour Support approaches. Maintain accurate records and work effectively with families and professionals.
Communicate effectively using British Sign Language. About You You will be caring, reliable, flexible and enthusiastic, with a genuine commitment to supporting people to live fulfilling and independent lives. Essential:
Level 1 BSL qualification or above. Right to work in the UK sponsorship is not available. Willingness to work days, weekends and waking nights. Good communication and teamwork skills. Person-centred approach and willingness to learn.
Desirable Experience of supporting autistic people, people with learning disabilities, complex needs, behaviours that challenge, epilepsy or dysphagia, and an understanding of Positive Behaviour Support.
