Occupational Therapist – Physical Disabilities

Liquid Personnel is recruiting an experienced Occupational Therapist to join its client’s dedicated team in Newcastle, supporting adults with physical disabilities. This is a varied and rewarding role focused on promoting independence through tailored assessments, equipment provision, and environmental adaptations. The successful candidate will play a vital role in helping individuals live more safely and independently within their homes and communities.

What will your responsibilities be?

  • Carry out comprehensive assessments, including complex cases
  • Manage a full caseload independently
  • Advise health, social care, and voluntary sector professionals
  • Recommend and instruct on safe use of equipment
  • Liaise with contractors and agencies for major adaptations
  • Advise on re-housing where adaptations are unsuitable
  • Maintain accurate records on Carefirst and compile reports
  • Supervise OT students and contribute to in-house training
  • Stay up to date with legislation and best practice
  • Promote equality and contribute to service quality initiatives

Qualifications &

Experience:

  • HCPC-registered Occupational Therapist
  • Experience working with adults with physical disabilities
  • Strong understanding of relevant legislation (e.g. Care Act, Mental Capacity Act)
  • Excellent communication and assessment skills
  • Commitment to CPD and service improvement
