Join us on our journey to empower over a million people to change their behaviours and thrive!

At Thrive Tribe we deliver award-winning healthy lifestyle and wellbeing programmes that make people happier and healthier! It’s a super exciting time to join us as we begin to deliver Stop Smoking Services throughout County Durham, and we’re looking for a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor (supporting SMI clients) to join our team at Smokefree County Durham
!

Our Stop Smoking Programmes are designed to support local people who live, study or work in County Durham and want, or need, to quit smoking. This role is specifically designed to work with partner organisations to support individuals who are living with severe mental illness to access stop smoking support in settings which they may already be attending such as Community Mental Health Hubs, outreach clinics and community mental health support groups.

As such, the role will involve establishing new working relationships and clear referral pathways as well as delivering stop smoking clinics.

Residents across County Durham who live with SMI will be able to benefit from a variety of our established pathways and products, including our Gloji Smokefree online programme. As a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor, your role will be to deliver both face-to-face and telephone stop smoking support to eligible clients alongside our online resource.

Like all roles at Thrive Tribe, you can expect your time at work to be fun, varied and challenging. We don’t like to stick to a firm JD as we know from experience that things change throughout the lifetime of a role and it gives our people the chance to play to their strengths.

A typical day as a Specialist Stop Smoking Advisor (SMI) might include:

Delivering evidence-based interventions that focus on smoking cessation, behaviour change, and psychological support to save lives by helping smokers quit for good

Running stop smoking clinics in community mental health support settings or community venues by working with clients on both a one-to‑one and group basis

Develop and deliver successful engagement and marketing initiatives that help local people living with SMI to know where and when to get stop smoking support

Working with partner organisations and colleagues across systems to help establish clear referral pathways to improve client uptake and meet targets

Ensuring an excellent and safe experience for clients, in alignment with our policies and procedures

Engaging in training relevant to your role, such as NCSCT Stop Smoking training and Behaviour Change Level 1 and 2

Using relevant information technology and systems to manage your day-to‑day tasks and client databases

Working with colleagues across all of our Thrive Tribe services to contribute to new projects and service developments – we’re always looking to share knowledge and resources!

Ensuring due consideration is given to Information Governance and Clinical Governance legislation, requirements and guidance

Helping us maintain the ethos of Thrive Tribe by driving our organisational culture forward across our services and using every opportunity to embed our values!

About you…
