Job Description

At Sage, innovation starts with our people. With over 13,000 colleagues across 40 locations worldwide and more than 2 million customers, we’re united by a shared purpose: to transform the way millions of businesses work. As a global leader in AI, finance and HR software, we harness cutting‑edge technology to simplify complexity and drive progress.

We’re now looking for ambitious, people‑focused apprentices to join our Learning & Development team, people who want to help shape how Sage grows, develops, and engages its workforce, while earning a recognised Level 5 qualification at the same time.

Why join Sage as an Apprentice? This isn’t a passive learning programme. From day one, you’ll work on real challenges alongside experienced colleagues, with structured development, mentoring, and hands‑on delivery. Hybrid, 3 days per week in the office, 2 from home.

Key Responsibilities

As a Learning & Development Apprentice, you’ll support how Sage designs and delivers capability‑building solutions that improve colleague performance and business outcomes.

  • Support the design and delivery of capability‑building solutions that improve skills, performance, and business outcomes
  • Create engaging, effective, and future‑focused learning experiences using AI and digital tools
  • Analyse learning and people data to generate insights and improve impact
  • Partner with stakeholders to understand capability needs and co‑create targeted solutions
  • Identify skills gaps and support interventions that build capability where it matters most
  • Support learning operations, including content creation, coordination, and reporting on key performance metrics
What We Are Looking For

We welcome applications from people who are at the start of their career and ready to learn. You don’t need a degree or prior experience in L&D, what matters most is your passion for people, your curiosity about how learning works, and a genuine drive to make things better.

To meet the entry requirements for the Level 5 apprenticeship, you’ll need:

  • Five GCSEs at grades 9–4, including English and Maths
  • Plus one of the following: 3 A-levels, a Level 3 Apprenticeship or vocational qualification—ideally in Business Studies, People Practice, Education, or a related vocational subject

Beyond that, you’ll stand out if you:

  • Have a genuine passion for learning and development and are motivated by helping others grow
  • Are focused on employee engagement and experience, and care about creating environments where people can do their best work
  • Bring an open mind and a future‑focused outlook, willing to challenge convention and explore new ways of developing people
  • Are agile and adaptable, comfortable shifting priorities and responding to changing demands without losing momentum
  • Communicate clearly and confidently, with the interpersonal skills to build relationships across all levels of the business
  • Are organized and detail‑oriented, able to manage multiple work streams and keep programmes running smoothly
  • Take accountability for your own development and thrive in a collaborative, fast‑moving team
Your Level 5 Apprenticeship

Alongside your day‑to‑day role, you’ll study towards the CIPD Level 5 Associate Diploma in Organisational Learning & Development, delivered as a Level 5 apprenticeship. The programme is designed to give you both the people practice grounding and the commercial awareness to design and deliver learning that drives real performance improvement. By the time you complete the programme, you’ll have a strong foundation in learning design, talent development, and employee engagement, giving you the skills and professional credibility to build a career in L&D.

Benefits
  • Five paid volunteering days each year through Sage Foundation
  • Access to learning platforms, expert‑led sessions and a global professional network
  • A clear career pathway with opportunities to grow once your apprenticeship is complete
  • 25 days holiday plus bank holidays, private healthcare, competitive pension and more
Application Process
  • Apply online with your CV
  • If eligible, you will be invited to complete a video interview
  • If successful, you’ll be invited to a final stage assessment
  • Successful candidates will join us in October 2026

We’re committed to an inclusive process for everyone. If you need any adjustments at any stage, please get in touch at ear
