Location: Newcastle upon Tyne

Overview

Support regional and home managers in a field‑based role to deliver excellent leadership and care to staff and residents.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary contact for HR advice and guidance to callers.
  • Manage a small caseload of employee relations (ER) cases, including disciplinaries, grievances, absence management, and performance issues.
  • Provide expert advice on ER policies and procedures, ensuring timely and compliant resolutions.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with Leeds Support, Home Managers and Regional Management teams to align a commercial and pragmatic approach to employee relations.
  • Offer guidance to all managers on employment procedures for all staff categories.
  • Reduce sickness absence through active case management.
  • Support monitoring and achievement of company KPIs related to case work and sickness absence.
  • Manage referrals to regulatory bodies when required and seek guidance from HR advisors.
  • Escalate cases as appropriate.
  • Collect, analyse, and produce monthly reports.
  • Communicate effectively verbally and in writing to various audiences.
  • Prepare accurate written correspondence with attention to detail.
  • Prioritise tasks and manage conflicting demands to deliver objectives.
  • Maintain confidentiality at a high level.
  • Use Microsoft Office suite efficiently.
  • Work effectively independently and as part of a team.
Qualifications & Skills
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Can‑do attitude and initiative.
  • Strong organisational and prioritisation skills.
  • Advanced keyboard proficiency and high accuracy.
  • Good IT skills, Microsoft Word, Excel.
  • Experience in care settings advantageous (but not essential).
  • Willingness to travel predominantly across the North East, occasional national travel.
  • Experience in complex fast‑paced ER casework desirable.
