NEWCASTLE CITY CENTRE ( ) Permanent up to £33k depending on experience excellent benefits including 29 days holidays banks (pro rata) Flexible & Hybrid options to work 21 hours per week, Are you looking for a varied and rewarding role within a small People team? We are seeking a Part-Time People Assistant to join a growing business and support the delivery of an exceptional people experience across the organisation.
This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with colleagues at all levels, develop your HR skills further and contribute to a positive workplace culture within a professional and forward-thinking environment. Reporting to the HR Manager, your responsibilities will include:
Supporting the day-to-day administration and operation of the People function. Assisting with recruitment activities, including preparing job descriptions, advertising vacancies, carrying out initial CV screening, arranging interviews and coordinating pre-employment checks. Supporting new starters with onboarding documentation and processes. Maintaining electronic employee records, attendance information and performance review documentation. Preparing employee correspondence and documentation, including contract amendments, promotion and salary increase letters, changes to terms and conditions, and leaver documentation.
Supporting the implementation on a new HRIS. Responding to internal and external enquiries directed to the People team. Assisting with the implementation and review of People policies, procedures and processes. Preparing documentation for audits and compliance activities to support adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. Updating and maintaining the People section of the company intranet to ensure information remains accurate and up to date.
About You We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive and committed to delivering a high standard of service. The ideal candidate will have:
Previous experience in a People/HR administration role. A good understanding of HR practices and employment legislation. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience building positive working relationships with a range of stakeholders. Strong attention to detail and accuracy. A customer-focused approach with the ability to remain calm under pressure. Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise competing deadlines.
Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook. The ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism. GET IN TOUCH ASAP!
