Senior Operations Technician

A leading Global Insurance company offering world‑class insurance and reinsurance services across major markets is seeking to hire a Senior Operations Technician to join their Operations team.

About the Role

This is a senior administrative role that acts as the first point of contact for underwriting teams into business support. You will work closely with the Operations Manager on projects and complex tasks and deputise when required. Strong communication skills and the ability to prioritise work across multiple deadlines, SLAs, and KPIs are essential.

About the Team

The Underwriting Support team ensures accurate and timely processing of premiums and provides operational guidance to underwriting teams. They collaborate with credit control and other functions to resolve payment queries and maintain data quality. The wider Operations department includes MI & analytics, claims operations, facilities, strategic operations and IT—all focused on delivering effective support services to enable business growth.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support underwriting assistants with bookings, cash queries and complex cases.
  • Maintain trackers and renewal lists; manage lineslips and binders across Fin Pro.
  • Assist with exception reports, EPI updates and credit control meetings.
  • Ensure data accuracy and escalate issues as needed.
  • Deputise for the Operations Manager and assist with onboarding and training.
  • Participate in audits, process improvements and ad hoc projects.
  • Build strong relationships with underwriting teams, brokers and other stakeholders.
Skills & Experience
  • Relevant insurance experience, ideally within the London/Lloyd’s Market.
  • Familiarity with transactional systems (Genius/IRIS desirable).
  • Strong communication and MS Office skills (Excel essential).
  • Analytical mindset and attention to detail.
