The URC is a challenger sports league with a bold vision: to unite diverse rugby cultures and deliver world-class entertainment to fans worldwide. As our digital footprint expands, we are focused on creating products and experiences that strengthen the connection between fans, partners, and the competition.

The Role

The Digital Platforms Product Lead will act as the product owner for URC’s digital ecosystem. This role defines the roadmap, drives product innovation, and ensures platforms support URC’s audience growth, brand, and commercial goals.

You will be responsible for shaping fan journeys, gathering feedback, and prioritising features across web, app, OTT, CRM/CDP, and engagement tools. Day-to-day, you will manage platform settings, support marketing campaigns, and deliver experiences that put fans at the heart of the URC.

This role combines creativity and product vision with enough technical literacy to work closely with the Senior Marketing Manager, Technology Lead and external developers. It is suited to someone who is equally comfortable brainstorming new features, tweaking CMS settings, and presenting product strategies to stakeholders.

Responsibilities

  • Own the vision and roadmap for URC’s digital platforms (web, app, OTT, CRM/CDP, fan engagement).
  • Align platform development with URC’s brand, fan growth, and commercial strategies.
  • Prioritise new features and improvements based on fan insight, partner needs, and budget.
  • Work with UX designers to optimise fan journeys (onboarding, ticketing, highlights, loyalty).
  • Manage CMS, CRM, CDP, and app settings for campaigns, notifications, and platform content.
  • Track adoption, performance, and engagement across platforms to produce actionable insights.
  • Coordinate with clubs and unions to support their use of URC-provided platforms.
  • Develop documentation, training materials, and onboarding resources for both internal and external users.
  • Act as product consultant for Outlier clients: gather requirements, shape delivery plans, and guide onboarding.
  • Represent URC professionally in workshops, client meetings, and product demonstrations.

Candidate Profile

  • Experience in product ownership, digital platform management, or similar roles.
  • Creative and commercially minded, with an understanding of fan engagement in sport.
  • Confident working in CMS, CRM/CDP dashboards, and app/OTT consoles.
  • Strong communicator, able to translate fan and partner needs into clear product requirements.
  • Comfortable balancing day-to-day operational delivery with long-term strategic thinking.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with technical colleagues and external suppliers.
  • Curious, proactive, and aligned with URC values:
Aim to Amaze, Be Brave, Lead from Your Position, Act as One Team United.
