Role Overview

We are looking for an experienced AWS Dev Ops Engineer to support the delivery, automation, and management of secure, scalable, and resilient cloud environments within complex digital transformation programmes. You will build and maintain AWS environments, manage CI/CD pipelines, implement cloud governance standards, and support development teams working across front end applications, microservices, serverless components, and integration platforms.

Responsibilities
  • Support the setup, configuration, and management of multiple AWS environments across development, test, staging, and production.
  • Manage and maintain AWS infrastructure to ensure high availability, scalability, security, and operational efficiency.
  • Support and optimise Git‑based CI/CD pipelines across multiple technology stacks.
  • Work closely with software engineering teams supporting React front‑end applications, microservices, Lambda functions, and integration services.
  • Support Kafka integrations and event‑driven architectures.
  • Configure and manage AWS networking components, including Transit Gateway and Private Link where applicable.
  • Support API management platforms, including Kong Enterprise Edition (Kong EE).
  • Administer multi‑factor authentication (MFA) and AWS IAM roles for development teams, ensuring adherence to security best practices.
  • Apply and maintain cloud governance standards, including accurate cloud resource tagging aligned with organisational Fin Ops principles.
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimise cloud infrastructure performance, security, and costs.
  • Support infrastructure automation and Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
  • Collaborate with architects, developers, security teams, and stakeholders to deliver secure and efficient cloud solutions.
  • Produce and maintain technical documentation and operational procedures.
  • Drive continuous improvement across cloud operations and Dev Ops practices.
Essential Skills & Experience
  • Strong hands‑on experience with AWS cloud services and infrastructure management.
  • Experience standing up and supporting multiple AWS environments.
  • Experience managing and maintaining Git‑based CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong understanding of cloud‑native architectures, microservices, and serverless technologies.
  • Experience supporting React applications.
  • Experience working with AWS Lambda functions.
  • Knowledge of Kafka integration and event‑driven systems.
  • Experience with AWS networking services, including Transit Gateway and Private Link.
  • Experience administering AWS IAM, MFA, and access controls.
  • Knowledge of cloud governance, cost optimisation, and Fin Ops practices.
  • Experience implementing enterprise cloud resource tagging standards.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
Desirable Skills
  • Experience with Kong Enterprise Edition (Kong EE).
  • Experience working within secure or regulated environments.
  • Experience using Infrastructure as Code tools such as Terraform or AWS Cloud Formation.
  • Knowledge of containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with monitoring, logging, and observability tools.
