Location: Newcastle upon Tyne
Automation Tester (Azure)
- Hybrid – 2 days per week in Newcastle (initially), reducing to once a month after 3 months
- 12 month FTC with full company benefits
- We can only consider SC cleared candidates with government / public sector experience
We’re looking for an experienced Automation Tester with strong Azure and CI/CD integration expertise to join our Integration Team on a high-impact central government programme.
This role will involve working closely with developers, Dev Ops engineers, and integration specialists to design and maintain robust automated testing frameworks that ensure seamless integration and deployment across cloud-based environments.
To be considered for this role, candidates must hold active SC clearance or be eligible to obtain it. The role will initially require up to two days per week onsite in Newcastle for the first few months, reducing to one day per month thereafter.
Key Responsibilities- Design, implement, and maintain automated test frameworks within an Azure Dev Ops environment.
- Develop and execute automated test scripts for functional, integration, and regression testing.
- Integrate automated testing within CI/CD pipelines to support continuous delivery.
- Collaborate with development and Dev Ops teams to ensure test coverage across complex integration points.
- Analyse test results, log defects, and ensure timely resolution of issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement of testing practices, tools, and automation frameworks.
- Support integration and system testing within a cloud-based architecture.
- Proven experience as an Automation Tester or QA Engineer in Azure-based environments.
- Strong knowledge of Azure Dev Ops, pipelines, and automated test execution.
- Hands‑on experience with CI/CD integration and automation within delivery pipelines.
- Proficiency with test automation tools such as Selenium, Postman, or similar.
- Understanding of API and integration testing methodologies.
- Familiarity with containerised environments (e.g., Docker, Kubernetes) beneficial.
- Experience working within Agile delivery teams.
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.
- Prior experience working on UK central government projects (desirable).
- Must hold active SC clearance or be eligible for SC clearance.
